We develop and provide highly technical solutions and acquiring services that pave the way for us in the finance sector as a vibrant and energetic company.
Following recent investment and our rapid scale-up into the UAE and Frankfurt, we’re looking for another Underwriter to join us at our offices in Manchester. This forms a key part of our on-boarding process. The successful candidate will be a valued and integral part of our rapidly growing team.

This is an in-house role that is currently being held remotely due to the pandemic.

The key responsibilities of a Payments Underwriter include, but are not limited to:

  • Qualifying client documents for ‘Know Your Business’ and ‘Know Your Client’ information.
  • Reviewing and reporting on existing merchants periodically to ensure compliance with card scheme rules and regulations.
  • Assisting in the analysis of chargeback exposure and provide Management Information (MI) on merchant performance, identified trends and risk elements.
  • Ensuring processes operate as designed and identify risk - escalating where appropriate.

This role would suit someone with at least one year's experience in credit underwriting; preferably in the card payments industry and in packaging and drafting IVAs.

The key skills and qualities of a Payments Underwriter include:

  • Experience with online/card-not-present merchants within electronic and digital commerce channels.
  • Knowledge of card transactions and Visa/MasterCard regulations strongly preferred.
  • A results-focused individual, with strong conceptual and quantitative problem-solving skills, able to deliver results on a consistent basis.
  • Skilled communicator with excellent written, verbal, facilitation and presentation abilities; able to work with and influence management regarding risk and compliance issues.
